"Sometimes we take the journey. Sometimes the journey takes us."
This is just what has happened. we are in Leh Ladakh as I post. But we are staying in Stok as Khen Rinpoche wants us clse by. So we are right next door to his home. In order to post I must ride for 15 minutes, cross a metal brige over the Indus River and through a sand stone landscape to reach a place with internet access.
Tomorrow I leave for the Nubra Valley. Over a high pass to get to the place hwere the Dalai Lama is teachng. I have found a woman to go with and we will saty there for 2 days. I am using the new camera and it is great. We had graduation yesterday.
Everything is indescribable so I will jus say love to all until I post again. Hope all is well at home. I miss you!!!

Deb,
everything sounds so amazing. It must be so incredible to try and take it all in, the smells, the sounds, the sights, most indescribable...the feelings. We miss you too, but certainly wouldn't wish you back home just yet. I'll let everyone know how your doing, Michael keeps asking, "I wonder where deb is now?" I told him, I'd check the blog....so glad we have this amazing technology. Take, care, care, care...
Carrie
Dear Deb, I am thinking of you often. I just read your blog and feel close to you from reading it. Despite the far distance in miles, we are connected. I think of you at this moment as I am back in Durham at a coffee shop, watching a train go by. Thanks for having me at your home. I told T. A. about the tree. I am glad to be home; "having travelled" is a special state. Cecile
Ahhh - I of course want details, but for now, I am satisfied to know that you are there - safe & having this experience. I have looked up the Nubra Valley and see that to get there, your journey will bring you along the highest motor able road in the world (wow!). (Insert - hope you are drinking lots of water...) I also note that the area is knows for the Bactarian camels - shaggy, double humped camels. :) Hope you get some photos! The atlas also shows you very close to China. Although this is likely an issue of discord where you are, for me, thinking of YOU there = great peace.
XOXO

WOW. Deb, reading your comments I could feel your compassion and how blessed you feel. What a wonderful slide show and stories you we will have to share when you return. Be safe and continue to drop the dock lines.
What a journey.
